VOWS to keep

A marriage certificate (not sign by bride and groom and witnesses at all) and a folder will be given when one couple registers a solemnization date. The folder says :-

... and how wonderful if one can stay true to it.

Birthday Cake with a double punch

This is a surprise I wasn't expecting. It is not a big deal to receive a birthday cake on my birthday, but IT IS when I have none from this sender... ever. My first and hopefully not the last.

I save my slice of cake till the next day so I can take a proper picture of it. See what is on the chocolate sign!

Hair Spray and Pins

I googled this hairstyle and pass on the idea to the hairstylist - Ivy. It took a lot of hair spray and pins to make it work. Sticky and heavy is all.

The flower is REAL. I took it off the plant on the room's desk.

Gel Nails

Yeap, these are my fingers with fanciful sparkling nails. This is the first time I do these to my nails (I'm a firm believer of 'real' nails not 'fake') and the whole process took me 2 hours.

Guess why I did it?

My bag is bleeding!

I got this bag in February and have only use it twice.

Recently, I carry this with me during my Liverpool trip but after a few days, the shoulder strips start bleeding and my beige jacket is stained in pink! I'M NOT HAPPY. I know I can get rid of the stains easily but a bag made from a reputable brand should not be bleeding! Now it does, I won't use it anymore and I won't have it lying around for nothing.

*mental note - I will write to them when I get back*

Results!

I sent the U.S. office an email and they suggest I talk to the local store. I did just that and the store offers to replace a new one. Great service. I do however reject that offer as I see no point replacing the same as I may risk it bleeding again. The store totally accept my view and gladly offer to replace it with another item of the same value.

What really impress is, I walk around the store and find nothing I like and the store suggest I can choose again when the new season arrives. SUPER impressed.

I got what I want 2 weeks later and walk out of the shop with a huge smile on my face. :)

*both thumps up for the Takashimaya outlet*

Tears for Fears

My first visit to Resort World... not to the casino or Universal Studio... but for Tears for Fears' concert.

Curt Smith is so cute I thought he is gay (Nah, he is married) and Roland Orzabal has a wonderful voice and perform great in live. Can't say the same for Smith though.

What most impress me this night is Orzabal sings his version of Billie Jeans in solo. I tried to get a S'pore version off youtube but they are all of bad quality. See this version from HongKong concert.

The Leela Kempinski - Gurgaon New Delhi

We were upgraded when we checkin and was told the room is of a bigger size as it is attached with a balcony.

My thoughts - who needs a balcony when it is 40°C out there day and night! Delhi is a DESERT!

this old cow!

When I was told we are taking this old cow to the airport, my jaws almost drop. *huh*

Three of us – 1 small (that’s me), 1 medium, 1 large, how are we going to fit into this tiny old cow?

*stepping back* Hold on? What about our luggage? We have 4 pieces, all pulleys.
I don’t want my luggage strap to the top of this old cow. (From my previous experience I gain a wet luggage.)

We did manage to squeeze everyone and everything in. The only place to rest my hands is on my thighs. I can’t even bend to see my feet! I am constantly worried it will break down in the middle of the forever chaotic traffic, and I’ll be force to get down and cornered by the street beggars. *cold sweat dripping off my forehead*

Thankfully nothing of those happened in the 20-min ride. Unfounded worries. *phew*

Took this picture when the driver is unloading the luggage. Off to Delhi now.

PS: Mumbai domestic airport is so much better than its international airport. Strange.

Fortune Cookie in Mumbai

I am not a believer but see what I've got (the top one is mine).

Ming Yang - The Chinese restaurant at Taj Lands End, surprisingly serve very nice food compare to the previous Taj I've stayed.

Taj Lands End - Mumbai

Reached the hotel last night.

Gosh, outside is HOT (37°C) and HUMID. Not going out.

The view from the room is the grey sea and unsightly construction.

This ‘torn’ building was a hotel and Taj Group bought it. They are tearing it down to build another wing for Taj Lands End. Heard they will build a bridge as link.

I like the size of the bathroom. With a glass panel dividing the bathroom and bedroom, the bathroom feels bright and spacious. Feel different as the view of the room is right in front (!) of me while I'm washing up at the sink. I kept looking for the mirror! Hahaha.

I have seen and used this kind of toilet many times but I didn’t expect they have it in Mumbai too. Heated seat and 37°C outside?

And a notepad by the toilet bowl??? *laughing*

Nice touch. Maybe many ideas and inspirations do pop while something else is popping out! Let me try...

See what I've found!

SEE... see… I knew I still have it. *tongue sticking out*

My first car’s Season Parking tickets and road tax.
It was a Charade (I think)!
Color? Can’t remember but recall it’s ugly.
Who cares? The car only costs me one grand.

EM4528R -Car plate number is so retro.

Wow, it is almost nine years. Ok, bin.

Farewell pics of old trusted horse

Dear Nissan Sunny

It is time to bid farewell. We have been together for 5 years and you are really quite a ride.

Your tone wasn’t ideal for or chose by me, it is the only tone available. Your ability to overtake put me down. I have learnt to follow and watch others zoom by me.

Less than a month after I have you, your body got scratched by some anonymous jealous prick and never looked new.

Your battery is constantly dry up but I know I should have taken you out more often.

Today you are still less than 22,000. You are rare for your age.

You will soon find someone to take you out everyday to make up loss time.

I will say hi if I ever bump into you.

Goodbye my old trusted horse.
Goodbye.

Turn vegetarian at White Collar Boxing

Thousands of attendees hence the organizer will not be able to offer a menu with variables.

At a black-tie event like this, it is always best to turn vegetarian.

I am here to support “The Tiger Shark”. He’s a champ tonight. Knock down the opponent 5mins into the second round. 3 months of training and completely quit smoking and boozing certainly pays off.

Do everyone really proud. *salute*

Personalize Birthday menu, BUN and BUTTER

My second time in Morton’s and this time are for a birthday dinner.

When customers call to make reservation, it is Morton’s practice to ask if there is any special event for that night. So they do know the dinner is for a birthday celebration.

The table we are sat is lightly decorated with sparkly bits casually scattered. Then came the menu and woo hoo... it has personalized greetings on it!

Impressive right?
I know it is easy to add extra prints on the menu but I am impressed because Morton’s is so well-known and popular, they do not have to be so thoughtful on personalized menu. It’s taking an extra mile above the tip top service.

Inspired… I start decorating the bun…

… and the butter… with the sparkly bits and my creativity.

Cozy dinner – small group, great food, good wine… … and my cutey cute bag.

Mini Horse with NOT so Mini Power

yay… YAY… Yay yay YAY… Yeah… *hopping around like a mad woman*

Never thought I’ll own a Mini one day. I always think that Mini is way too small for me. (Still TOO SMALL!) You see... I like to keep my books, roller blades and rackets etc in the car. Now I can't contemplate picking up golf anymore. Where am I going to leave the golf bag?

Well... I need to change my car for a long time but just didn’t do it. Have toyed with the idea for two years. Yes, whole two years!
... Then I am convinced to change to a Mini.
... Not just a normal Mini but a Mini Cooper S.
... Not just a Mini Cooper S but a CONVERTIBLE Mini Cooper S.
Am I crazy or what?

I am now a proud owner of a super powerful Mini with a retractable roof!!!

ZIP, zip, zipping away…

Let's Mini!

PS: Yes, have airbrushed the number plate away. So none of you can buy 4-D. Hehehee..

HK Watercress Soup

I order Watercress soup in a restaurant in Hong Kong and I really love its taste.

So here I am… stealing recipe by taking a picture of the ingredients scoop out from the pot.

PS: Why do I not see carrots (at all) in Singapore Watercress soup?

On The 'Light'House

Am in The Lighthouse @ Fullerton Hotel to arrange for an event. After discussion, I knew this place is not ideal for that event but we stay on to have the degustation set as dinner. The food is fantastic and service is great (maybe because they thought I may use them for event). Plus panoramic view, I will definitely come back again. *make a note in mind good place for corporate dinner*

When we are done, we ask for the check as usual. The manager came smiling and politely tell us the bill was taken care of by the chef. Oh dear, we are surprise but quickly rejected the kind offer. We have done nothing to gain a free dinner!

The chef appear next and explain the dinner is a treat from him and hope that he can see us there again. Hmm... very sincere. I like his approach. Not because of the free dinner but he values future opportunities. We owe him one. THANKS AGAIN.

PS: I offer to at least pay for the wine but he insists he will buy the whole meal.

Alice in Wonderland and My virgin 3D experience

Mr D is having his school holiday so we plan to watch Alice in 3D. I have him invited Mic along as I think they like to catch it together.

Alice is good. I like the idea that I get to watch my childhood fairytale in Tim Burton's way. Sit back, relax and watch. No more flipping the book, imagining Mad Hatter and reading aloud. The Queen of Hearts is super hilarious.

Can't say the same about the 3D experience. The 3D glasses is so b****y heavy that not only it stressed my nose out and leave ugly marks... it HURTS. *pain pain* I have to hold the glasses with my hand for more than 2 hours!!! I actually felt relieve when the movie is over. Sorry Tim, I like the show but not the pain.

PS: Not being princessy, Mr D agrees the glasses are ridiculously heavy too. Will someone tell me why the glasses need to weigh a ton?

Mr D and his love for Italian food

Mr D has always love Italian food. His first try on the black-inked pasta today at Mario's and he totally adore the taste and stain.

Tawandang Microbrewery

Today is my lazy Saturday and I HAVE to get out of my neighbourhood and venture. I have always wanted to try this place (heard about it) and here I come - Tawandang @ Dempsey.

The german beer is special and the thai food is delicious. I have to mention the stir-fry Morning Glory is the best I have ever had. I will recommend this place.

Kitaro Love & Planet Music Tour 2010

Simply Brilliant!

This is the second time I've watched him live and totally speechless. The first time was in the 80s, before he was banned from Singapore for his long and wild tresses.

His Matsuri is still unbeatable and the coordination with the Singapore Team is excellent.

and Silk Road... great memories.

Morton's The Steakhouse

My first.

I have never been and I do not know what to expect.

Not only the food is good, the service staff impress me. He can recite the menu - top to bottom, without looking or stopping in between. What is it about reciting the menu anyway? Why made the staff do that? I don't get it.

This crab leg is my main course. Totally love it. The tag is not pretty, trust me.
